For students aged between 11 and 16

Years 5 and 6 are vital years during which our students are continuously encouraged to build their self confidence. This is an enormous help in generating his/her capacities to become more autonomous thus managing his/her study methods. As a result many of our students are capable of reaching new heights of understanding, be it in the mathematical, scientific or linguistic sections of the curriculum.

Needless to say English is taught as a subject as well as having physical education through English.German is introduced in year 5.

From year 7 Blancpain school teaches the equivalent of the «voie secondaire» thus being compatible with the system taught in state schools in the Canton of Vaud. However at Blancpain emphasis is placed on problematic areas such as oral acquisition of English and German as well as solidifying mathematics and French.

Accountancy and I.T. classes are introduced as subjects from year 8. 

At the end of year 9 students sit exams to obtain the General Certificate in Secondary Education (Certificat d’Etudes Secondaires) granted by the Vaudoise Association of Private Schools (AVDEP).

Our students on obtaining their certificate can automatically continue onto year 10,  which is the foundation year of the Maturité Fédérale, or enter into a professional college or do an apprenticeship.
